Whisky fairs 2025 in Germany - The ultimate Guidebook
Every year there are plenty of whisky fairs, some of which also offer a few other spirits for tasting, but who should attend one and what's the use of going?
In short, for everyone! Whether self-proclaimed connoisseurs who want to expand their knowledge and possibly their home bar and discover new things or newcomers who want to get to know the fine drams. Because the concept of a whisky fair is the perfect setting for precisely these cases. Many distilleries, brands and independent bottlers have a stand at these fairs. These are lined up with a careful selection from the respective exhibitor's portfolio. At each stand, you can usually sample the whiskies or other spirits on display, such as rum, gin, brandies or liqueurs, for a small fee. So everyone will find what they are looking for. Connoisseurs broaden their horizons and newcomers find their love for the world of whisky and also learn something about their own taste preferences. The exhibitors often guide you through the tasting process, first the nosing, then the tasting, and fire up your imagination with the first nuances of flavour. Little by little, everyone will find that their own taste palette expands and more flavours are discovered with each whisky. Much-loved bottles can usually be purchased directly from the stands. For those interested, we have taken over the search for the right fair.

Info: With over 70 exhibitors, Hansespirit is one of the largest whisky trade fairs in Germany. The exhibitors include distilleries, producers, importers, retailers, brand ambassadors from all over the world, newcomers and independent bottlers. In addition to whisk(e)y, the tasting programme also includes r(h)um, gin, cognac, (fruit) brandies, liqueurs and more. There is a food area and free water stations. Ticket prices also include a tasting glass, which is available at the fair. Tickets at the event box office are subject to a surcharge and can only be paid for with a debit card, the same applies to tastings. Cash payment is also possible at some of the exhibitors' stands.

Info: The small but fine fair in the vaulted cellars of the time-honoured Rüsselsheim fortress offers a very warm and communal atmosphere for a joyful exchange of spirits by the glass. Location: Kulturhalle Zenith München, Lilienthalallee 29, 80939 München
Info: Southern Germany's largest trade fair for premium spirits with an international festival character since 2005, where over 100 exhibitors offer everything your heart desires, from whisk(e)y to r(h)um, gin, tequila, fruit brandies, beers, cognac, genever, grappa, liqueurs, chocolate, tobacco, cigars and vodka. For all cocktail and long drink lovers, there is the ‘Mixology’ station, the so-called Cocktail Corner, where a wide variety of treats are conjured up. 11.-12.04.2025 Kempener Whisk(e)y Konferenz
Location: Konferenzloft Kempen, Wiesenstraße 4, 47906 Kempen
Info: This exciting exhibition is making its way into the whisky scene's trade fair programme for the 5th time. But this trade fair ticks differently. When buying tickets, you can choose between attending the fair online or in person in Kempen. The ticket price also includes a sample set, which will be sent to your home or can be collected from the shop. This is intended as a blind tasting with 6 whisk(e)ys from 6 different countries to give a foretaste of the whisky fair. The secret of the samples will be revealed on the Saturday of the fair. Info: Jens-Uwe Altmann has been organising the annual Whisky Fair Festival in Limburg an der Lahn since 2001. The popularity of the fair in the whisky community has ensured that there has also been an autumn edition at a different location (Bad Homburg) since 2023. Thanks to the extensive supporting programme and the numerous international speakers, well-known and new exhibitors from the spirits industry, both newcomers and advanced drinkers get their money's worth! 03.-04.10.2025 Whisky & Genusstage Dresden

Info: With a rustic flair and an area of 1500 square metres, this trade fair offers a great insight into the diverse world of spirits. Whisky, rum, gin, high-quality spirits, culinary delicacies, craft products and accessories can be admired in a cosy atmosphere from around 50 exhibitors. There will be plenty to sample, chat and buy. In addition to admission to the fair, the Premium Weekend Ticket includes 30 minutes earlier admission on both days of the fair, a tasting glass with glass holder band and a tasting of the new bottling of Dresden Old Town Whisky (2cl). Tickets are only available against cash payment at the box office on the day/evening if there are any remaining tickets after the online pre-sale. These are then subject to a surcharge. It is not always possible to use EC cards at the stands, so it is better to take cash with you.

Info: A trade fair like never before! For the first time in Germany, whisky lovers and newcomers can expect a real spectacle. The spirits importer Kirsch Import is bringing the world-famous event to us in co-operation with Paragraph Publishing. Since 2000, the event has enchanted more than 28 cities around the world every year, as well as the well-known Whisky Live Paris and Whisky Live London. Info: Following the Whisky Fair Rhein-Ruhr at the beginning of April, spirits retailer Rolf Kaspar GmbH is once again delighting visitors this year with the ‘Aquavitae’ trade fair highlight in Mülheim an der Ruhr. Over 80 exhibitors will be waiting at their stands to delight people with selected spirits. Whisky rarities, gin, grappa, tequila, rum, vodka or fine fruit brandies - it's all there! Info: The magazine ‘Der Whisky-Botschaftler’, which is well-known in the whisky scene, is also the organiser of this great gathering of like-minded people. ‘Where connoisseurs meet pleasure.’ For over 25 years, the fair has been the event for whisky beginners and connoisseurs. It combines a trade exhibition, a whisky culture programme with informative master classes and a platform for outstanding newcomers to the industry. As Germany's oldest and most traditional whisky fair, it offers a professional exchange with whisky experts and all exhibitors of all brands from Scotland, Ireland, America, Japan, Germany and the rest of the world. A ticket to the fair also gives you free access to the ‘Whisky Forum’, smaller seminars. Additional tickets must be purchased for Master Classes and Grand Master Classes. Info: The charming whisky fair in Villingen has been delighting everyone since 2014. With around 50 exhibitors and around 1000 open whiskies, plus rum and other spirits for tasting and purchase, the fair has a lot to offer. The outdoor area features a coffee mobile, food truck, cigar lounge, beer trolley and seating. Info: At the whisky fair ‘Just Whisky Hamburg’, the name says it all: to taste and enjoy the water of life in all its facets, be it as single malt Scotch whisky, Irish pot still whiskey, whisky from Scandinavia, India, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, etc. Arousing the interest of whisky newcomers to talking shop with whisky connoisseurs, in short - the fun of whisky in a harmonious atmosphere is the endeavour of numerous producers, distilleries, importers, retailers and independent bottlers. There will also be exciting tastings, live music and a balanced culinary offering. Ticket prices also include a tasting glass, which will be available at the fair. Info: What began in 2014 as no Christmas fair with 26 exhibitors has turned out to be a highly respected meeting place in the whisky scene and now attracts around 130 producers, distilleries, importers, independent bottlers and around 90 retailers and other exhibitors. ‘The spirits event at Messe Bremen’. This is where everyone really gets to know their flavour. Sweet, spicy, tangy - whisk(e)y, rum, gin or something completely different? The Bottle Market offers a ‘spiritual’ journey for all preferences. There are also exciting tastings led by renowned names from the industry and a food area for your physical well-being. We already have one very important tip in advance: start with non-smoky (unpeated) whiskies, then the smoky drams (peated). The heavy and smoky flavour is extremely dominant and ‘distorts’ the taste of unpeated whiskies.
